4 Ideas For A Bay Area Daycation

Share

Now that we’re on summer’s doorstep, vacation plans are in full swing!

If you’re short on time, try one or more of these personal favorites that can easily be enjoyed in a day:

Aptos | Forming a collection of character-rich communities that include Seacliff, Rio Del Mar, and Cabrillo, this seaside haven delivers a little something for everyone. Enjoy Gold Rush-era architecture, tasty eateries, and outdoor adventures in state parks like Seacliff State Beach and the Forest of Nisene Marks, an otherworldly redwood sanctuary.

Carmel | This picture-perfect community at the southern end of Monterey Bay is as diverse as it is beautiful. Stroll village streets filled with idyllic architecture, explore art galleries and heritage institutions, and hike, bike, or golf through breathtaking coastal scenery. Pro tip: Culinary Week is June 5-13!

Half Moon Bay | Not only does this enclave display one of the most glorious stretches of coastline in California, but it’s also one of my favorite spots in the entire world. J Come here to wander the tidepools, watch surfers brave the huge waves of Mavericks, and partake of a scrumptious meal at the Ritz-Carlton.

Livermore Valley | Overlooked by scenic Mount Diablo, Livermore Valley is one of our nation’s oldest wine regions and showcases over 50 tasting rooms. But wine isn’t all it has to offer! Paddle a kayak around Lake Del Valle, shop ‘til you drop at Northern California’s largest luxury outlet mall, or visit Mt. Diablo State Park to climb El Diablo itself.

These no-more-than-a-day getaways are just a handful of the many community treasures scattered all over our beautiful Bay Area. If you’d like a few more daycation ideas for the summer, just ask!
