Summer is here, and it’s high time to take advantage of Northern California’s fantastic weather, extra hours of sunlight, and great outdoors! Rooftop venues are expanding across the Bay Area as increasingly popular hangouts for friends and family.

Here are a few excellent recommendations nearby:

RH Palo Alto

Just opened in May 2024, this atelier-slash-restaurant includes a rooftop retreat immersed in contemporary splendor and savory dishes. Lobster is prime summertime fare, and RH’s Roadside Lobster Roll with truffle fries comes highly recommended this time of year. Other menu highlights include charred ribeye and grilled avocado with caviar.

British Banker’s Club

Located in the heart of Downtown Menlo Park, this exclusive eatery showcases an ultra-chic rooftop lounge overlooking the surrounding district. Enjoy conversation, delicious cocktails, and bites like “money bags” (duck wonton dumplings) or short rib bruschetta before heading downstairs to the formal dining room for a full dinner.

Copita Tequileria Y Comida

Perched on the corner of Willow Street and Lincoln Avenue, this trendy Mexican restaurant boasts Downtown Willow Glen’s only commercial rooftop patio, complete with delightful beverage concoctions and a limited dish menu. If you find yourself in North Bay, check out its sister location in Sausalito!

Eataly Silicon Valley

This foodie mecca at Westfield Valley Fair presents not one but TWO rooftop options. Its fine dining restaurant, Terra, provides an indoor-outdoor space dripping with botanical décor and lined with rooftop seating. Next door, La Pizza & La Pasta offers a more casual alternative; its dining room opens to an intimate patio overlooking the skyline.
