A lingering effect of the pandemic has been the trend of pursuing personal wellness at home. Instead of gym memberships or routine spa visits, homeowners are investing in amenities that provide health benefits without having to leave the house.
Here are three at-home wellness features I’m seeing more and more frequently:
- Cold Plunges
Cold plunges are having a moment due to the many health benefits ascribed to a regular cold water immersion routine. Some homeowners are resorting to portable inflatable options that can be moved around your property as needed, while others have purchased more permanent fixtures.
- Home Saunas
Recent studies have produced plenty of evidence that saunas may help alleviate many common disorders and diseases. Beyond that, many people find a sauna routine both pleasurable and relaxing, so it’s no wonder that infrared sauna compartments are popping up inside homes all over the country. For entertainers or large families, group-sized barrel saunas are a popular outdoor addition.
- Skylights & Oversized Windows
Health specialists assert that, by drawing closer to nature, we can develop a strong circadian rhythm that keeps our wellness in motion. Installing skylights and/or oversized windows in our personal spaces has become a popular method of supplementing our circadian rhythms, and I expect to see this renovation maintain popularity long into the future.
Are these health-based amenities just trends, or are they worthwhile investments that could add significant value to your home? If you’re curious about installing one or more of these features, I’m happy to share my professional insight before you pull the trigger.
